Congratulations, you have just found some of the finest Amish handcrafted furniture available in the marketplace today!
This fine Amish furniture is made of solid wood. Our Amish furniture is made of Oak, Cherry, Maple, Hickory or Quartersawn Oak. Most of the furniture made today uses substitute materials such as particleboard. Because particleboard is made from wood fragments bonded with resin, it is considered an “all wood” product — but it is NOT solid wood.
Solid wood comes straight from the tree, with all the beauty and durability nature intended.
Because solid wood is a natural product, the color and grain will vary slightly. This is your assurance that your furniture is the real thing.
Solid wood responds to changes in temperature and humidity by swelling or shrinking. These responses are natural and self-correcting. To prevent cracking and warping of your furniture, the humidity in your home should be at about 50%. Furniture MUST NOT be placed close to wood-burning stoves, fireplaces, or other heat sources.
All of our furniture is finished with Resistovar II, which is resistant to water, alcohol, warm dishes, marring and scratching. Since your furniture comes directly from selected Amish woodshops throughout the USA, please allow 21 days for the finish to completely harden.
HOT items coming directly from your oven or microwave should not be placed directly on your solid wood furniture.
To keep your furniture looking new, it may be wiped with a damp soft cloth, using a mild soap solution such as Murphy's Oil Soap used according to directions. If necessary, rinse with water and dry with a soft cloth.
If you would like to polish your furniture we recommend guardsman
which gives better resistance to fingerprints and dust without impacting the ability of the finish to “breathe.” Do not use any dusting or polishing products that contain wax or silicone.
